 ဗုဒ္ဓဘာသာ လူငယ်များအတွက် ဝေါဟာရများ (၄)

A Dictionary of Buddhist Terms ဆိုတဲ့ အဘိဓာန်ကို အစကနေ တစ်ရွက်ချင်းဖတ်ပြီး လိုချင်တာလေးတွေ မှတ်စုချရေးတယ်။ အခု စာမျက်နှာ ၂၃၀ အထိပြီးသွားပြီ။ ကူးရေးထားတဲ့ မှတ်စုတွေထဲက သိထားသင့်တဲ့ အောက်ပါ ဝေါဟာရတွေကို အင်္ဂလိပ်စာ ဝါသနာရှင် လူငယ်များအတွက် ပြန်မျှဝေပေးလိုက်ပါတယ်။

61. precepts = သိက္ခာပဒ၊ သိက္ခာပုဒ်၊ သီလ။ (moral rules and regulations; Five Precepts ငါးပါးသီလ၊ Eight Moral Precepts ရှစ်ပါးသီလ)

62. proper attention = ယောနိသောမနသိကာရ၊ သင့်တင့်မှန်ကန်စွာနှလုံးသွင်းခြင်း (right perception )

63. protective verse = ပရိတ္တ၊ ဘေးဆီးရန်ကာပရိတ်တရား။ (Paritta is a protective verse which averts evils and provides protection from evil influences.)

64. rains retreat period = ဝဿာဝါသ၊ ဝါဆိုခြင်း၊ ဝါကပ်ခြင်း၊ မိုးတွင်းသုံးလအတွင်း ဝါဆိုသည့်ကျောင်းတိုက် အာရာမ်တွင်းမှာ နေရခြင်း။ (observing the rains retreat period; confining oneself to a specific monastic dwelling during the three months of monsoon rains)

65. Refuge = သရဏ၊ ကိုးကွယ်အားထားရာ ရတနာသုံးပါး။ (The Three Gems as Refuge ဘုရား တရား သံဃာ ရတနာသုံးပါး။ The Three Gems are called Refuge because they protect the one who takes refuge in them against all kinds of danger and misfortune. )

66. rejoicing in others' merit = ပတ္တာနုမောဒန၊ သူတပါးတို့ ကုသိုလ်ကောင်းမှုပြုသည်ကို ဝမ်းမြောက်ခြင်း၊ သူတပါးတို့က အမျှပေးဝေသော ကုသိုလ်အဖို့ကို ဝမ်းမြောက်ဝမ်းသာ သာဓုခေါ်ခြင်း။ (By rejoicing in others' deed of merit and saying "Sadhu (Well-done!)" one gains the same amount of merit as the author of the deed.)

67. Reliquary = ဓာတုဂဗ္ဘ၊ ဓာတ်တော်တိုက်။

စေတီတော်၏ အတွင်း၌ရှိသော ဓာတ်တော်တိုက်သည် အမွန်မြတ်ဆုံး နေရာဖြစ်သည်။

The reliquary inside a stupa is the most sacrosanct part of it.

68. repeated contemplation = အနုဿတိ၊ အဖန်ဖန်အောက်မေ့ခြင်း၊ အဖန်ဖန် သတိရခြင်း။

69. resultant = ဝိပါက၊ ဝိပါက်၊ အကျိုး။ (effect of kamma)

70. right action = သမ္မာကမ္မန္တ၊ မှန်ကန်သောအလုပ်၊ ကောင်းစွာပြုလုပ်မှု။ (right conduct)

71. right concentration = သမ္မာသမာဓိ၊ မှန်ကန်သော တည်ကြည်ခြင်း၊ ကောင်းစွာတည်ကြည်ခြင်း။

72. right effort = သမ္မာဝါယမ၊ မှန်ကန်သောအားထုတ်ခြင်း လုံ့လ၊ ကောင်းစွာအားထုတ်မှု။ (right endeavor )

73. right livelihood = သမ္မာအာဇီဝ၊ မှန်ကန်သောအသက်မွေးခြင်း၊ ကောင်းစွာ အသက်မွေးခြင်း။

74. right mindfulness = သမ္မာသတိ၊ မှန်ကန်သော အောက်မေ့အမှတ်ရခြင်း၊ ကောင်းစွာ အောက်မေ့ခြင်း။

75. right speech = သမ္မာဝါစာ၊ ကောင်းစွာ စကားဆိုခြင်း၊ မှန်ကန်သော စကားကို ဆိုခြင်း။

76. right thinking = သမ္မာသင်္ကပ္ပ၊ မှန်ကန်သော အကြံအစည်၊ ကောင်းစွာကြံစည်မှု။

77. right view = သမ္မာဒိဋ္ဌိ၊ မှန်ကန်သော အမြင် မှန်ကန်သော အယူ၊ ကောင်းသော အမြင် ကောင်းသော အယူ။ (right understanding )

78. round of existences = သံသာရ၊ သံသရာ၊ ဘဝ အဆက်မပြတ်ဖြစ်ခြင်း။ (the continuous arising of existences; The continuous arising of mind and matter, aggregates, is Samsara.)

79. scriptures = ပိဋက၊ ပိဋကတ်တော်၊ သင်ယူအပ်သော ပရိယတ္တိစာပေ။ ခြင်းတောင်း။ (canonical texts to be studied; basket)

80. seasonal offering of robes = ကထိနစီဝရ၊ ကထိန်သင်္ကန်း၊ ကထိန်ကံဆောင်ရန် လှုအပ်သော သင်္ကန်း။ (Kathina robes; robes offered to the Samgha for holding a kathina ceremony)
