တစ်ခါက သာဝတ္ထိပြည်၌ အနာထပိဏ်အမည်ရှိသော သူဌေးကြီးတစ်ဦး ရှိ၏။ 

Once upon a time, in the country of Saravasti, there was a rich man named Anarhtapein.

ထိုသူဌေးကြီးကား အလွန်စိတ်ရင်းစေတနာ ကောင်းလှသည်။

The rich man was very good nature.

သဒ္ဓါတရား ထက်သန်သည်။

He was a generous person.

မရှိဆင်းရဲသားတို့အား အမြဲ ထမင်းပေးလှူတတ်သောကြောင့် “အနာထပိဏ်”ဟု

ခေါ်တွင်နေခြင်း ဖြစ်၏။

He used to give charity to poor people. So he was named as Anarhtapein.

တို့ကို ထမင်းကျွေးတဲ့သူဌေးကြီး ကျန်းမာချမ်းသာပါစေဗျာ

May this rich man who feed us be healthy and wealthy.

ထို့ကြောင့် လူအများက သူဌေးကြီးအပေါ် ချစ်ကြောက်ရိုသေကြလေသည်။

So the people loved and respected him.

သူဌေးကြီးအိမ်၌ ကြက်ဖြူတစ်ကောင်ကို မွေးမြူထား၏။

The rich man had a white rooster.

ထိုကြက်ဖြူကို လမ်းမှဖြတ်သွားသော ပုဏ္ဏားကြီးတစ်ယောက်က တွေ့မြင်သွားလေပြီ။

The brahmin who passed on the road saw this white rooster.

အလို...

Alas!

တယ်လည်း ကျက်သရေမင်္ဂလာအပေါင်းနဲ့ပြည့်စုံတဲ့ ကြက်ဖြူကြီးပါလား ဟရို့

How graceful the white rooster is!

ဒီကြက်ဖြူကြီးကိုသာ ရမယ်ဆိုရင် စီးပွားတက်ရချည့်

If I get this white rooster, I'll become a rich man.

အို ပုဏ္ဏားကြီး

Oh! Brahmin!

ကျုပ် အိမ်ထဲ ဝင်လာတယ်ဆိုတော့ ဘာအလိုရှိလို့လဲ ခင်ဗျာ

ဟီ ဟိ ဒီလိုပါခင်ဗျာ

ကျုပ်က တပည့်တွေကို ဗေဒင်ပညာသင်ပေးတဲ့အခါ အချိန်အတိအကျ သင်ပေးရပါတယ်၊ ဒါပေမဲ့ 

အိမ်ကကြက်က အချိန်မှန်မှန် မတွန်ပါဘူး

Heh! Brahmin,what has happened.

ဟို ဟိုလေလက် လက်စွပ် 

I need your ring.

ဪ ငါ့လက်စွပ်ကို လိုချင်လို့လား

Oh! Do you want my ring?

Take it.

ရပြန်ပြီ

I got it.

ဟိုက် ငါ့လက်ထဲရောက်တာနဲ့ ပတ္တမြားလက်စွပ်ရဲ့ ကျက်သရေကပျောက်သွားပြန်ပြီ

Hm! When it is in my hand the glory of ruby ring is fade away.

ဟော တွေ့ပြီ ကျက်သရေကသူဌေးကြီးကိုင်ထားတဲ့ တောင်ဝှေးဆီကို ပြောင်းသွားတာကိုး

Now, I see. The glory moves into the staff of the rich man.

ဟို ဟိုလေ သူဌေးကြီးရဲ့တောင်ဝှေးကို ရနိုင်မလားလို့

Eh! Can I get your staff?

အို ရနိုင်တာပေါ့ ရော့ ယူလေ

Oh! You can get it. Take it.

ဟိုက် ငါ့လက်ထဲရောက်တာနဲ့ တောင်ဝှေးရဲ့ ကျက်သရေက မရှိတော့ပြန်ဘူး

Alas! The glory of staff disappears when it is in my hand.

ဘယ်ရောက်သွား တာပါလိမ့်

ကျက်သရေက သူဌေးကတော်ကြီးထံကို ပြောင်းသွားတာကိုး

The glory moves to the wife of rich man.

ဟဲ့ ပုဏ္ဏားကြီး ဘာတွေများ ထပ်အလိုရှိသေးသတုန်း ပြောလေကွယ်

Heh! Brahmin. What do you want more? Tell me.

ထိုအခါမှ ပုဏ္ဏားကြီး အသေအချာ စဉ်းစားမိလေပြီ။

At that time, the brahmin started to realize.

သူဌေးကြီးက ငါတောင်းသမျှ အကုန်ပေးနေတော့တာပဲ

The rich man give what I ask.

သူဌေးကတော်ကြီးကိုတောင်းရင်လည်း ပေးဦးမှာပဲ

If I ask his wife, he will give me too.

ယူလို့ မဖြစ်တော့ပါဘူးလေ

It is impossible to get his wife,

အို သူဌေးကြီး ငါဘာကိုမှ အလိုမရှိတော့ပါ

Oh! Rich man, I want nothing now.

သူဌေးကြီး ပေးလိုက်တဲ့ပစ္စည်းတွေက ငါ့လက်ထဲရောက်တာနဲ့ တန်ဖိုးမရှိတော့ပါ

What the rich man give me, it is worthless when it is in my hand.

ငါဟာ အလွန် ဘုန်းကံ နည်းလှပါတယ်

I'm lack of power.

ရှေးကုသိုလ်ကံလည်း ထိုပါတယ် ပုဏ္ဏားကြီး

You need to have good deed in your former life, brahmin.

နောက်ဆုံး ပုဏ္ဏားကြီးသည် လက်လျှော့ပြီးသာ ပြန်လာခဲ့ရသည်။

Eventually the brahmin surrendered his needs and returned home.

ဘုန်းရှိပစ္စည်း ဘုန်းမမဆိုင်တာကား..

Nonenity cannot own the sage's identity.

ပုဏ္ဏားကြီး ပြန်သွားတော့မှ ကျက်သရေကင်းမဲ့ခဲ့သော ကြက်ဖြူကြီးလည်း မူလအတိုင်းပြန်လည်၍ 

ကျက်သရေ တိုးပွားလာလေတော့သည်။

When the brahmin returned, the ignominious white rooster become glorious agian.

သို့ဖြစ်၍ လူသားတိုင်း ကျက်သရေတိုးပွားအောင် ကုသိုလ်ကောင်းမှုများစွာ ပြုလုပ်သင့်ပေသည်။

So to become a glorious person, you must do good deeds.

(၂) ပယောဂပညာဖြင့် သူတစ်ပါးဒုက္ခရောက်အောင်လုပ်သည်။
