Thingyan 2

        We do not throw water at night. We build stages over sidewalks and dance-groups dance on these stages. Floats come to the stages. There are also groups of dancers on each float.  They stop the floats and dance in front of stages. The group on the stage also entertain the visitors. The floats compete each other both in dancing and decorationof the float. The best performers and the most beautiful floats are awarded.
        A village-Thingyan is quite different. Young villagers pay homage to the elders during Thingyan days. They wash the hair of the elders.  People offer water to the monasteries. They wash the pagodas.   Old people observe Sabbath in monasteries through out the day.
        Burmese usher in the new year in this way.

Note:  Notice that "အကောင်းဆုံး"  can be used as a noun phrase or an adjective like the "best" in English.
