 Myanma Newspaper

        According to historical records, newspapers have been published in Myanma since 1840.
        There were various newspapers in old days. However, only two newspapers exist today. They are; The New Light of Myanmar and The Mirror. The New Light of Myanmar is published in both Burmese and English.
        The newspapers are thick now. But, they have been thin from 1970 to 1989. Myanma newspapers include news about politics, economic, education and religion. One can read all important news in the papers. Moreover, there are also editorials and articles in them.  In addition to the news, they include many advertisements.
        They do not sell the newspapres at a high price so that more people can read.

အောင် "in order to" follows a verb.

Stress (อ่านว่า ส เตรส)  แปลว่า เน้น

คำนี้เป็นคำกริยา แปลว่า “เน้น” เช่น เน้นเสียง หรือ จะแปลว่า ทำให้ “ตึงเครียด” ก็ได้    ถ้าเป็นคำนาม จะแปลว่า “การเน้นเป็นพิเศษ” หรือ “ความตึงเครียด”      ส่วนอีกคำที่คำแปล คล้ายๆ กัน นั่นคือคำว่า

Emphasize (อ่านว่า เอ๊ม ฟา ไซส์) แปลว่า เน้นย้ำ

คำนี้เป็นคำกริยา แปลว่า “เน้น”  เช่น เน้นย้ำ ให้ความสำคัญ    สิ่งที่แตกต่างกันระหว่างคำว่าStress และ Emphasize คือ คำว่า stress จะเป็นการเน้นในเรื่องเกี่ยวกับการออกเสียงหรือกล่าวถึงเรื่องที่มีความตึงเครียดความกดดันเข้ามาเกี่ยวข้อง  ขณะที่ Emphasizeจะเป็นการเน้นย้ำในส่วนที่เกี่ยวข้องกับเรื่องเนื้อหาสาระหรือตอกย้ำในประเด็นที่มีความสำคัญ

คำศัพท์ภาษาอังกฤษที่แปลเป็นไทยเหมือนกัน ไม่ได้หมายความว่า การใช้งานจะเหมือนกัน การรู้ถึงความแตกต่างในการใช้งานจึงมีความจำเป็นอย่างมาก เพราะจะช่วยให้การใช้ภาษาอังกฤษมีความสละสลวยขึ้นมากครับ
